October 15th & 16th, 2022

We look forward to welcoming back many former Dumbartonians, seminarians, and friends of the congregation to celebrate this special anniversary year.

Saturday, October 15, 3-5:00 p.m.

Informal Gathering to Welcome Returning Dumbartonians

All are invited to Fort Ward Park as we gather to welcome those who are returning to celebrate our 250th Anniversary.  We will have drinks and snacks and wonderful conversations!

Location: Picnic Area 5 Fort Ward Park, Alexandria VA

Parking: Park in the large lot on the right or behind the museum on the left. Rest rooms located behind the museum and at Area 5.

Sunday, October 16, 10:00 a.m.

Adult Ed (in-person & online), “Reminiscences & Dreams” led by Joe Friebele — an informal time to get to know one another, those coming back for the homecoming and folks in the current congregation. Includes ice-breakers and sharing–stories, reminiscences, and thoughts about the next 250 years!

Sunday, October 16, 11:00 a.m.

Worship, “Our Hope in Ages Past — Our Hope for Years t0 Come” Guest Preacher– The Rev. Dr. Tom Brunkow, Dumbarton United Methodist Church Pastor from 1975-1987. (in person & online)

Following Worship — Potluck in the Social Hall and outside. All are welcome! Drinks and dishware provided. Local Dumbartonians please bring food to share!
