Dumbarton offers many ways to serve the congregation, the community, and the wider world. You can learn more about our work outside the church by browsing the Ministries sections in our main menu at the top of the page.
The church also welcomes the involvement of its lay congregants in planning and leading worship services. If you would like to be the liturgist or a reader, lead the “A Time for All Ages” moment, offer special music, be part of the guitar team, or be on a planning team for worship, please let the church office know by filling up the contact form here.
Several Discovery Groups meet monthly in different areas of the DMV and online. Their activities vary, but often start with a potluck dinner, followed by a discussion. Expect members to share personal experiences during the month and bring up faith or life challenge issues. A prayer or reading is often part of the program. Discovery Groups meet in: Northwest D.C./Bethesda; Arlington/Alexandria; Northern Virginia West; and Silver Spring/Prince George’s County/Northeast D.C. We also have a Discovery Group for Families with Children and our Online Discovery Group is made up of folks from across the country. Contact the church office for the coordinator of the group in your area.

If you plan to attend a Dumbarton activity in person and are not walking, biking, or taking a hired vehicle or public transit, allow a few extra minutes to find a parking spot, even on Sunday mornings. Parking in Georgetown is notoriously scarce, but easier if you come for Adult Ed and Children's Ed, both at 10 a.m.
We welcome visitors to participate in both Adult Education programs and worship services on Sunday mornings either in person or online. Join us for worship in person or on Zoom! If you’re reading this outside our Sunday worship time, click on Watch Now to view a recent sermon or see our sermon archive.
Children are an important part of our faith family and are always welcome in worship. Faith comes alive for children and youth at Dumbarton—not just through Sunday worship, but by also participating in one of our church’s many mission and outreach opportunities.
